privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DailyHair collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services.

Last updated: August 10, 2026

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use DailyHair, we may collect:

  • Account details such as your name, email address, and authentication identifiers from Apple or Google.
  • Profile and hair-tracking information, including routines, routine steps, daily logs, growth entries, streaks, notes, and hair profile details.
  • User content you choose to upload, such as photos associated with growth tracking.
  • Subscription and purchase information, including plan status, trial status, entitlement details, and platform source.
  • Technical and usage information needed to operate the service, secure accounts, and maintain synchronization.
  • Support or account deletion requests you send to us.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Provide core app features such as logging, syncing, reminders, progress tracking, and subscription access.
  • Process sign-in and authentication requests.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and improve reliability.
  • Respond to support messages, account issues, and deletion requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Subscription and Payment Data

Payments may be processed by Apple, Stripe, or other authorized payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

We may receive limited subscription-related information such as product identifiers, customer identifiers, entitlement status, trial status, expiration dates, and platform source. We may also use RevenueCat or similar services to validate and manage subscription access across platforms.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as needed with:

  • Authentication providers such as Apple and Google for login services.
  • Payment and subscription providers such as Apple, Stripe, and RevenueCat.
  • Artificial intelligence providers, currently OpenAI and DeepSeek, when you use a feature that relies on them. See “Artificial Intelligence Features” below for what is sent and what is not.
  • Service providers that host, secure, store, or support the operation of DailyHair.
  • Authorities or other parties when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

5. Artificial Intelligence Features

Three features in DailyHair are powered by artificial intelligence models operated by companies other than us: the AI hair scan, the personalized routine generated at the end of onboarding, and the in-app hair assistant. Using them means sending some of your information outside DailyHair, so this section sets out exactly what is sent, to whom, and what happens to it.

Who processes the data

  • OpenAI — receives the photograph you submit for a hair scan, and any photo you choose to attach to a message in the assistant.
  • DeepSeek — receives the text of your questions to the assistant and your onboarding answers, and returns the personalized routine.

We may change or add providers as the service evolves. When we do, we will update this section before the change takes effect.

What is sent

Alongside a photograph or a question, we send the hair information needed to make the answer useful: curl pattern, porosity, density, texture, thickness, length, oiliness, scalp condition, hair concerns, chemical or thermal damage, wash frequency, your stated goal, your current routine, and the results of your most recent scan.

We do not send your name, email address, date of birth, account identifier, or any other information that identifies you personally. The provider receives hair information without knowing whose hair it is.

What is not done with it

  • Your photographs are not stored on our servers. They are sent for analysis and discarded.
  • Your data is not used to train any artificial intelligence model, by us or by our providers.
  • Your hair information is never sold, and is not used for advertising or marketing.

Your consent, and how to withdraw it

Before anything is sent to an AI provider for the first time, the app asks for your explicit permission and explains what you have just read. Nothing is sent before you agree. These features are optional: DailyHair works without them, and declining leaves the rest of the app fully usable.

You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the app or requesting deletion of your data as described in “Your Choices and Rights”. Withdrawing consent stops future processing; it cannot recall an answer already generated.

Accuracy and limits

Scores, readings and advice produced by these features are estimates generated by a model from a photograph and the information you provided. They are not measurements, not a clinical assessment, and not a diagnosis. They are guidance for hair care only. For any concern about your health, including hair loss or a scalp condition, consult a qualified professional.

6. Photos and User Content

Any photos, notes, and logs you upload are processed and stored so the app can provide progress tracking and synchronization. Please avoid uploading content you do not want associated with your account or content that includes sensitive information you do not wish to store in the service.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain records related to subscriptions and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When account data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably possible.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or update your personal information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • Cancel subscriptions through the platform where you purchased them.
  • Request information about how your data is processed.

To request account deletion or privacy assistance, email support@dailyhair.app.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

DailyHair is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. International Processing

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own depending on where our service providers operate. When required, we take steps intended to provide appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice within the app, on the website, or by other appropriate means.
